I made these lovelies using:
- different shades of Pattons Smoothie DK
- a natural shade of cotton of a similar thickness (any contrasting colour will do)
- 4mm hook
Pattern abbreviations (UK terminology)
ml - magic loop
sl st - slip stitch
ch - chain
tr - treble crochet
htr - half treble crochet
This pattern is just one round of crochet.
ml
ch 2 from ml
3 tr into ml
ch 2
sl st into ml
ch 2
3 htr into ml
ch 2
sl st into ml
ch 2
3 htr into ml
ch 2
sl st into ml
ch 2
3 tr into ml
ch 2
sl st into ml
fasten off
Now draw your magic loop in really tight.
Now to make the body just wrap some contrasting colour yarn around the middle 4
or 5 times and tie it in a double knot at the top.
Trim the ends of that body yarn to the right length for antenna.
Darn or weave the ends in and you now have a tiny butterfly!
